James Powell
James is a Python programmer based in NYC.
He runs NYC Python (http://nycpython.org), the world's largest and most active Python meetup group, and has served as chair of New York's regional Python conference (http://pygotham.org). In addition, he has acted as co-organiser for the PyData conference series (http://pydata.org) and has chaired an independent conference "for Python Quants" (http://forpythonquants.com) aimed at Python professionals working in quantitative finance.
He's given talks at PyTexas, PyCon Sweden, PyCon Canada, PyArkansas, PyCon Spain, an PyCon Finland, and a number of PyData events (in London, New York, Boston, Silicon Valley, and Berlin.)
He may also be notorious for having come up with a couple truly bad ideas, including the atrocious Python 3.4-ism (None for g in g if (yield from g) and False)
